The hard reality is that AI upscaling and framegen are the future now.
>PC is doing it
>Nintendo is doing it
>Playstation is doing it
>Xbox is doing it
Devs aren't willing to crunch for optimization.

Either use it or enjoy 720p 24fps.

Nintendo doing it actually talked me out of buying a Switch 2.

Just don't buy their games. I'm not even sure why people still do, personally I'm not a fan of games that feel bad to play and make me feel blind.

The games objectively feel bad, we've got thousands of games to play. Start playing through childhood games, games you couldn't affordas a kid and games you've decided not to buy in the past.

i refuse to believe that amd can do it better. the main problem is that nvidia has a dedicated chip to handle all this stuff, while amd only does it in the software. when you have situations like these, the superior option is always the option where you have something that is created specifically for the thing it's supposed to be good at. and i say this as a huge amd fanboy. i may like amd, but i can still see the simple reality for what it is.

That IS literally what you are "enjoying" in reality.

>Dohta confirmed that Nintendo uses DLSS upscaling technology and is offering it as a tool to others in response to a question from Inverse's Shannon Liao.

its a option in the switch 2 sdk but not a single first party game uses dlss.

This isnt anything new. As hardware progresses the software gets less and less efficient because software is a clusterfuck house of cards because the average consumer couldnt care less. Capitalism -> just push out the minimum viable product and pay millons in PR and you're golden. Windows 98 is as snappy with 64MB of ram as Windows 10 is with 8096MB. No difference in core functionality

this is how it usually works. and so far, it has been the truth. fucking look at amd's upscaling solution and nvidia's side by side, and you will immediately be able to see the difference. again, i'm a super amd fanboy, but the facts are the facts, end of story. maybe amd's software solution will be on par with nvidia's in the future, but it ain't right now, simple as.

That's what happens with 4K, textures are so heavy and everything is so bloated that you have to rely on AI upscaling.
I find them to be MUCH better now, to be honest. Play a game with only DLSS 1 or FSR 1 and compare to their more recent interations, it's night and day. I understand why people get mad when they buy a $1200 GPU and still have to use AI upscaling, but that shit is amazing for my 4060.

Not happening, the 9000XT series was just a stopgap that is meant to just be a final RDNA4 placeholder generation because the RDNA 4 architecture is a fucking mess and they couldn't justify producing a full range of cards on it, so it's just here to keep sales from crashing to 0 until the next series on RDNA 5 can release, and that generation will have the full suite of cards.

We literally went from people shitting on TXAA to GPU manufacturers and developers finding a way to do better AA by using state-of-the-art AI upscaling techniques giving you a better picture and better frames and it literally drove some retards on here insane to the point that they've started calling pixels "fake". Absolutely mind broken.
