Has gacha ruined the appeal of anime games for anyone else? I just don't feel mike buying the next panty sniffing offline rpg when there are a gajillion gachas sharing the same art style. Some even have better stories.

I still like Persona and Xenoblade but IPs like Senran Kagura and Neptunia were always bottom of the barrel.

No, I curse gacha for taking devs from actual game development. The sad excuses for games were not built with "fun" in mind, they were built with the idea of pushing the gacha and doing dailies to progress. No, you do not have to pay, but you pay with your time instead, in a monotonous and chore-like way.
I say this after playing some gacha casually since Summoner's War like 11 years ago, so it's not like I have no experience with them.
And god I wish I could use the Arknights characters in a normal video game. I love the art direction but the game is just not fun.

Chinese games are not anime. Games with 3d models are not anime. Anime explicitly refers to animation style from Japan. WEGs made in the style of Japan are not anime, and Chinese gacha games are just softcore WEGs.
