Why is this specifically the gaming king of CPUs? Something that consoles will never have like Nintendo, Sony, Xbox, Valve, etc?
Anonymous No.715292664 [Report]
Massive cache.
Consolicucks will have something of the sort circa 2035. IF consoles even exist after the 2020s, that is.

Consoles don't need powerful CPU because in 97% cases they're GPU bottlenecked
Anonymous No.715292908 [Report]
They don't need hardware because console game developers are smarter than pc game developers so their games are better optimized

I upgraded to an X3D card (not that one in OP) and saw a lot 30-40FPS jump in Tarkov, which is extremely heavy on CPUs

It just works.

i know what you talking about, but it's never occurred, maybe, in some specific games.

if the cache is so helpful then why dont all cpus just be x3d? where is intels counter to this?

>why isn't this on every cpu
Same reason that the 5090 isn't the only gpu being sold. It's expensive and some people won't buy it.
>why isn't intel copying amd
Intel cpus work differently and don't benefit from massive cache the way amd cpus do.

5700x3d can often be found for $260.

playstation will probably have it next generation I assume, unless they're dumping x86. If there is another xbox it will too.

Why can't AMD's GPU division be this cracked?

AMD's CEO doesn't care about GPUs, only the integrated laptop stuff

>meme cache that only improves games that already run well over 120fps, but has shittier performance on literally every other application and has zero room for overclocking because the gayass cache is too fragile

AMD saw a major opening against Intel, took it and ran like hell. Independent of AMD doing anything, people were sick of Intel's stagnation and several gens in a row of socket changes for barely any improvements. They haven't really had such an opportunity for an upheaval against Nvidia. They'll need a couple more 5000-tier launches in a row just to get people adequately pissed, and then they'll need some Jim Keller-tier engineering to deliver a plainly superior product on top of that.
