It's a pretty unique puzzle/exploration game.
The story is fine, but many purport it to be some life changing experience, which it is not. I can only see that happening if you're like 14.

Avoiding spoilers is paramount, because the only progression in the game is your knowledge. There is nothing to stop you from just looking up the solution to the main puzzle and finishing the game in about 20 minutes.
