Its because these companies put so much money into developing these games. They want a return on that investment. They aren't just going to cancel. The games are also taking super long to develop plus the thought of putting out that next big GAAS game that will let these executives retire early its all too enticing to stop. Its going to have to take many more years. I don't think its ever going to go away only decline a bit more at best.

There are two main issues right now, those being that the balance is terrible and that the pay to win extraction game mode is the only way to obtain cosmetic items that drop randomly from it (and also paints are random values when you do get them which is all kinds of fucked).

Problems in a nutshell:
Ranked is full of bot (see chinese laws for gaming time, they rather fight bots than players) until you reach a specific rank where que times drop off of a cliff in EU and NA. They probably have to add bots later to high ranks as well, enjoy grinding bots all the time.

P2W extract mode that feels shoehorned in, could have spend the time improving the actual game.

Jewish f2p prices.

Mediocre balancing.

Game was a flop, always knew it, its a chinese dev and they cannot help themselves but make bugslop for addicts. Imagine filling MM with bots lol.

The game has two target audiences: those who enjoy mecha and those who enjoy boobs.
Those who enjoy mecha left because the game is worse than its beta version, performs worse, is less fun thanks to nerfs and it's pay-to-win.
Those who enjoy boobs left because MechaBreak characters have no personality, unlike the gacha games. Let me explain: the developers didn't understand that fanservice-filled gacha games work because they sell not only different body types but also different personality types and that can only be seen in everyday situations or in their reactions, things that are absent in mechabrak since if the characters are not inside the mecha they are inside of the shower.

The devs are incompetent retards who saw their last beta hitting a higher player count than their first one as evidence that the balance changes they made had improved the game.

They hadn't, they killed it. They nerfed DPS, buffed retarded turrets and healing mechs, and redesigned Welkin to be the "counter everything and win every objective" mech. For the full release, they decided to buff Welkin some more, and then nerf every other melee by reducing their energy to buff heavies even more.

Unsurprisingly, players are dropping like flies as they hit the higher ranks where games aren't filled with bots, and get their shit pushed in by premade stacks who are matched against teams made up of randoms, where any deviation from the meta of "at least 1 healer, 1 sniper/flyer, at least 1 turret, and Welkin" is an insta-loss. Also, if your Welkin or sniper is worse than the enemies, you lose too.

The balance is completely off. A couple of the mechs are insanely overpowered, a couple others that were really fun in the beta were nerfed into the ground. They actually removed content that was there in the beta, like the upgrade system. The only way to increase player power is play their shitty extraction mode, which is already ruined by rats and campers, or buy the upgrades from other players who play it.

No amount of hot chicks will overcome shitty game design and poor balancing. Extremely high quality anime style and/or sfm/blender porn is readily available all over the internet. The gooners won't stick around for a shitty game.
