In all examples that I gave they do take control and they do good. Titanfall and that cod robot act defensive and sacrifice themselves for the player, don't remember particular examples from cortina or halo's ship ai sadly, but I remember about legion from mass effect that also does good

The mutagen shit was already Diego's doing before the constraints were removed, and everything after was a byproduct of him trying to both cover his ass and squeeze out every ounce of power. Diego was 100% to blame for SHODAN having a goddess complex.

SHODAN's probably the only AI-gone-rogue that at least has a reason for going rogue. I don't recall GLaDOS having anything beyond "and then she neurotoxined le everyone" beyond a missing progression between Caroline => GLaDOS and that incident.

GLaDOS never stops being evil, she was just kind of absolutely fucking tired by the point of Wheatley shoving her into a potato. Remember the co-op mode ends with Atlas and P-Body finding a huge supply of humans that GLaDOS can run tests with.
