Christianity incorporated a lot from the geeks metaphysically but if you pay attention you see a lot of the philosophy that appears to mesh is not the same. a lot of people from the christian culture (the west) will read greeks and think everything sounds about right and then encounter something that seems bizarre and out of place. they will chalk of up to an isolated incident and a few particular differences with out realizing those are just the things that they cannot distort enough to fit in with their christian preconceptions. the greeks are not understood by the modern eye and we see different weird christians when looking at them with out appreciating just how alien they actually are. the west makes this mistake repeatedly with all cultures.

Pretty much everything about Platonic philosophy is based of Indian philosophical trends. It's just how things work. Cultural diffusion was the strongest cultural force in the world, and Indian philosophy was diffusing into Greece hard.
