Why aren't there more games out there with Christian values in them?

It's all just "Church bad this" , "We must kill God" that, but never anything else to talk about and instill hope, wonder and beauty into others.

Exactly. If you want it, make it. Plenty of engines out there are free and accessible-Unity, Godot, even RPG Maker. If the AAA scene isn't giving you what you want, then be the change. People complain nonstop but rarely put in the work. Start small, tell a meaningful story, and don't turn it into a sermon-just let the themes shine through naturally.

Yes, let's play a game where you become an ascetic monk and just pray for 18 hours, that will drive people to our game.
The good "Christian" games are just ones where you kill demons like Castlevania.
I remember when I was a Christian wanting to make an adventure game where you fight out of hell and the saints were like summons.
Christianity is basically philosophy. It's like asking why don't have any Pythagorean games, or any Platonic games. What would the gameplay be?

OP wasn't asking for historical game, he was asking for a Christian game. A game centered around Christianity is supposed to have Christian themes and motivation.
I don't think that a game about some people who happen to be Christians fucking someone up (generally for reasons not directly related to their religion) can constitute as a Christian game.

Blasphemous is definitely THE most Christian game in existence, despite Christianity in literal sense not being present in it. It's so Christian that local Christian LARPers can't even appreciate just how Christian it is, since they're generally familiar only with some highly sanitized versions of Christianity from which most of its traditional components were removed. But if you know a thing or two, it is obvious that devs of that game are intimately familiar with traditional Christianity and all its attributes. Where else can you find a game in which you have to collect special bones that have religious meaning?

A game about going through the day, getting mocked for trying to help NPCs by through virtous side quests, standing up against bullies and taking a beating instead of beating them up, basically running around like a Dostoevsky character listening to troubled peoples troubles - this all sounds like a pretty cool game concept. Christianity incorporated a lot from the geeks metaphysically but if you pay attention you see a lot of the philosophy that appears to mesh is not the same. a lot of people from the christian culture (the west) will read greeks and think everything sounds about right and then encounter something that seems bizarre and out of place. they will chalk of up to an isolated incident and a few particular differences with out realizing those are just the things that they cannot distort enough to fit in with their christian preconceptions. the greeks are not understood by the modern eye and we see different weird christians when looking at them with out appreciating just how alien they actually are. the west makes this mistake repeatedly with all cultures.

I understand making something easily verifiable as an axiom, but if you actually make some complex supernatural statement made by a human as an axiom, you're a fucking retard and will have no philosophy left.
This is why actual philosophy existed only in Antiquity, before Europeans contacted asiatic brainrot. Medieval "philosophy" is a preaching of christard imams, and modern era philosophy is a similar preaching by freemason imams.

Godel's incompleteness theorem extends beyond mathematics. A certain degree of speculation is necessary in natural philosophy, even if the axiom isn't directly falsifiable. Helpful abstraction that are not provably true can still be helpful.

Actuรกally, Godels incompleteness theorem does not even cover mathematics.
It's an exclusively formal logic thing. Since formal logic and math are very close disciplines, it's used to evaluate epistemologic problems related to math, but... it's not EVEN math, much less any other area of philosophy.

If you imply that math is functionally equivalent to formal logic, I kinda doubt you know what either math or formal logic is.

>>715367254
>elaborate on this please.
Pretty much everything about Platonic philosophy is based of Indian philosophical trends. The extreme emphasis on reincarnation, the notion of "highest oneness", separation of soul from the reincarnation cycle to lead into realization of identity with that oneness, that is literally just fucking Atman.

Greece was in extremely close economic and cultural trade with India at the time. I'm not implying anything negative by this, for the record. I'm not in any way lessening the importance of Platonic philosophy. The concepts were imported, but the formalization that Plato gave to it was uniquely his an an amazing intellectual accomplishment.

But it's also what constituted the key divide between Platonism and Aristotelianism. Aristotle was far more rooted in the more Greek-specific logocentrism (it's why he took such an obsessive interest in developing logic), where as Plato was very heavily leaning towards pantheism and effectively mystical insight.

It's just how things work. Cultural diffusion was the strongest cultural force in the world, and Indian philosophy was diffusing into Greece hard.

Bait thread.

When the fuck does Christianity focus on beauty? Don't say The Renaissance because that was done in spite of the church, not because of it. Instilling wonder? You mean like wondering why adults play make-believe with the ghost of an illiterate doomsday prophet that spoke a dead language? Yeah, that fills my ass with wonder.

you are miserable and projecting that onto the faith itself. life is beautiful. the relationships you can have with others are beautiful. the world all around you is beautiful, the nature, the animals, everything God has created is beautiful, and being in Christ helps you appreciate that all the more, including yourself because you know that you are loved by God and just as beautiful to Him as everything else.

Ah yes, in a time period where the majority are more present online than they are in real life and easier to come into contact with through the internet, you should go out there and preach like in the good old days before electricity and all that.

Plenty of people already preach in all those places you just talked about. Less do it online where it's actually even more important right now than ever. Look at the catalog and the threads that get spawned on the daily just being in majority porn, gossip or some other form of people just wanting to be as miserable and vile as possible towards others to feel better about themselves and tell me this isn't the exact type of place that would require the same type of help and work you are complaining about.

You could probably go something with Folklore which has Christianity begrudgingly being cool with the supernatural as long as they show reverence to Jesus and are not evil.

With many of the supernatural that are friendly with Christianity turning around and being extremely hostile to other supernatural creatures especially if they harm humans

The sea bishop or bishop-fish was a type of sea monster reported in the 16th century. According to legend, it was taken to the King of Poland, who wished to keep it. It was also shown to a group of Catholic bishops, to whom the bishop-fish gestured, appealing to be released. They granted its wish, at which point it made the sign of the cross and disappeared into the sea.

There is also the legend of Pope Sylvester II and 'Meridiana' the Succubus.

Pressine and some Scottish king

There was also the debate about Cynocephalus and other creatures by 9th century monks and the story of Melusine who married a French king.

Thiess of Kaltenbrun a supposed werewolf who would lead invasions into hell with an army of werewolves to beat up demons

What a coincidence that Roman values (conquest, slavery, dominance) became Christian ones after Constantine converted.

Before 350 AD Christianity was the religion of slaves, cripples, and lepers and it rarely left Rome and the Middle East.

Reminder that the Tanakh (Old Testament) has instructions on how to keep and beat your slaves and rules about killing them (Hint: sometimes it's okay).

Everyone in the Bronze Age was an amoral monster by our modern-day standards, it benefits us in no way to keep their backwards rules around.
