Most under the radar game I've ever seen. Never seen a single thread about this one. At least AC Shadows gave us the funny gay Yasuke memes

Because it's a money grab that was originally intended as an expansion for Valhalla.

That's because the series isn't actually all that popular (hence AC shadows bombing financially)

The game was average, but it was fun if you liked the gameplay and combat of the Ezio games

I love Ezio games and this is shit. It's a downgrade on so many levels, and it's bloated out the ass. Also the city is soulless, they had little to go on so they made it all up and it feels like a generic video game city. Which is what it is

I played it. Combat is god awful and doesn't fit the rest of the game at all, but that's to be expected out of every modern AAA slop. Map was alright because it wasn't open world and Ubisoft is generally ok at making maps based on actual historical locations. The best parts of the game was sneaking around and using all the tools to your advantage, I admittedly did have fun with some of the missions even if I was imposing challenge on myself by LARPing as an actual steath assassin rather than just running into combat like a zoomer. I didn't enjoy the presence of all the girlbosses and the story was retarded as always from Ass Creed. I only play these games to roleplay in historical settings. I hope they make a Templar game next where you beat the shit out of assassin faggots.

the protag of that game was the worst part of valhalla, incredible how they managed to create some of the most unlikeable characters three games in a row.

>actual historical locations
Yeah that's the problem, it's not really a historic location. The city IRL was completely erased, they just sort of made it up based on some vague descriptions. Every building you see in it is fictional, none of them looked like that IRL.

It's a decent game that shouldn't have been build on Valhalla's framework. Some people also hated the fact it wasn't a big action RPG with loot like the three games before it were.

Every AC game is like that the further they go back. AC1's cities look nothing like they actually did in real life, save for that temple in Jerusalem and a few other preserved buildings. Of course it's fictional, it's not supposed to be a 1:1 recreation, it's only supposed to put you in an immersive historical setting.

Yeah but they all still had some IRL buildings. If you go to Venice or Florence you'll see a shitload of buildings that are directly in AC2. Even Odyssey had a lot of real stuff that you can still see IRL, despite also making up a lot of shit. That's what kept those games grounded and realistic. If it's all fake, what's the point? That's just a fantasy game then

Of the entire nu-AC trilogy Odyssey is by far the most removed from Assassin's Creed.

In no way are Ezio games bloated compared to AssC1. 1 may be shorter but it's full or repetitive bloated nonsense, clearing it fully is a waste of time. 2's side activities are a lot more varied and fun to clear.
Also who the fuck thinks Venice and Florence are soulless? Literally the best AssC cities to this day

I played it after Valhalla (as you should) and its..okay. The problem is its never going to be
>Old AC
enough for those who wanted old AC1 and its going to be too simple for those who got used to the complexity of the Nu-AC trilogy. I think it does a good job of being a pallet cleanser and harkens back to AC1 style settings, missions etc. If you wanted to go to Baghdad in the Islamic Golden Age this was a nice trip. The story of Basim's origins was neat, though I do wish they would have taken more time to expand the difference between Basim and Loki except at the very end. Valhalla takes a whole game to sort out Eivor/Havi from their uh..heritage...and though Basim later remarks something akin to "My time wasn't as long but it was more dynamic" the game doesn't quite represent that , instead it seems more of a Basim unlocks the Isu tech where his predecessor's consciousness was imprisoned and then it kind of merges and takes him over. Even his Eagle companion basically scratches his face and fucks off, knowing he's not Basim he knew properly anymore but instead someone else. It could have used more depth to show if its more of Loki's memories taking over, or if they come to some sort of symbiotic accord like Eivor/Havi does.

People were tired after Valhalla despite it pretty much giving everyone all the options they could want, it was a LOT of them. I think thats why Mirage was sort of under the table but it was still a worthwhile thing in its own right if you wanted to see that historical location and learn Basim's story.

I tried playing it for like 4 times and I quit every single time. I finished Valhalla mind you. Either AC formula is too boring for me at this point or the game itself is boring.
