Just finished Dragon Age: Veilguard
It was pretty fun. I enjoyed the combat and exploring/finding secret shit.
Didn't like that so much of the lore was explained. You do not do that. For the world to be interesting, you need to keep some mystery. Now we know where dwarves come from and why are they cut off from veil. We know where elves and their gods came from. We know how the Blight appeared. There is literally no more mystery.
They also destroyed any prestige their organizations had, showing them completely inept. Grey Wardens were this secret order of warriors and mages dedicated to dealing with darkspawn and Blight. Antivan Crows were an organization of assassins, who never miss their mark. Both of them needed Rook to come and save them.
The after-credits ending was also shit. Removing agency from Loghain and saying that he was manipulated by someone is criminal.
Why is every companion on DA:V such a Mary Sue?
>Dwarf who can do magic and dream
>Grey Warden with a griffin
>Fire-breathing Qunari
>Non-mage assassin possessed by a friendly demon
Previous games had much more grounded cast, especially the first one.
I give it a light 6/10
