has any piece of media ever lost the plot as hard as FNAF did? The plot went from being a somewhat cryptic but relatively understandable story (FNAF1-3) to a non-Euclidean knot requiring 10 spin-offs work of backstory to parce

After Security Breach I just don't care desu.
Security Breach and the Mimic game don't feel like FNAF games. They feel like a ripoff designed for a much younger audience. The lack grit entirely.
Into the Pit was an okay spinoff but kind of inconsequential.

Purple Guy is the CEO of Freddy’s and co-created everything, Phone Guy is his stooge that used to work at another robotics company but acted as Purple Guy’s inside man to steal all the employees and eventually the company itself. Then he got to manage a Pizzeria, it got shut down, he was put on night guard duty at another one and then he died.
