That doesn't exactly equate to everyone being able to make use of the engine in the same way that Crytek could on the other hand. I'm unsure if the documentation is anywhere near as good. But Varva of Warhorse stuck with it because he was convinced Unreal Engine was shit and couldn't handle his game or something along those lines. Saying that UE can't handle complex RPG open world games and thats why Witcher 4 from CDPR was in some state of development hell. I think another example of one of the more potentially promising games we saw developed on it was Homefront the Revolution. That's a massive could 'have been' game, if it had more time to bake in the oven and wasn't rushed out the door on a deadline by the publisher. All of the lighting in that game looked fantastic, to the point of where i wish game developers were still contemplating about what they can do with that engine. Star Citizen also shows just the amount of crazy cutting edge tech you can fit into that engine, modified cry engine build. Outside of the branding post CIG/Crytek lawsuit.
