It does, OP is schizophrenic. While some checkpoints do skip monster encounters, most don't. Those who want it rough play on Hard Mode, it doesn't have this problem as you manage your own tightly limited amount of saves.

It doesn't say GAME OVER on either difficulty. It gives you a hint on how to avoid the death you just experienced on Normal, and just "You died" on Hard. You'd know this if you actually played the game, though you don't seem to even pretend that you did. I'm not installing it just to make a screenshot of what you can experience in the first hour of the playthrough. Spend the minimum amount of effort and actually play what you're making up lies about.
