Probably, the advancements in Biology that have happened since the 80's (when cyberpunk as a genre began in earnest) make a lot of the issues raised seem quaint. It's important to understand that there's an aesthetic element to cyberpunk and all movements really that is born from a particular reaction to a particular time/place, so looking at the cyberpunk movement with the benefit of 40-odd years of hindsight does make some of the idea seem a little stupid/antiquated.
If you want to get political, a lot of cyberpunk has to deal with what a human is worth to their employer, as the early 80's were historically a period of total unfettered drive for profit/number-go-up. So it makes sense that in a cyberpunk world someone would be forced to have their arms replaced in order to work harder, why corpos treat people like tools to discard the second a better one comes around, etc.

The stupid thing about cyberpunk is that the body almost 100% of the time rejects any foreign matter and sees it as a threat. Some true nightmare stories have happened. Eventually things have to be taken out, refit, redone, cleaned etc because the body treats inorganic matter as bacteria. It is HIGHLY improbable anyone would survive that long with that much of their body replaced. There's a high probability of septic shock. You'd be better off being %100 a robot, and having your consciousness recorded like Johnny Silverhand/Saburo Arasaka to a chip and slotted into your new body.

I always liked the Shadowrun method of dealing with cybernetic implants. The more original body you have, the higher your "soul" or spirituality you have, and therefore the higher your magic ability (because magic exists in Shadowrun alongside cyberpunk tech).

In general, I enjoyed Cyberpunk 2077's approach to cyberpsychosis. Altough there isnt a humanity stat like in tabletop, its shown that nearly all "cyberpsychos" arent suffering from some sort of psychotic attack - they are just normal fellas augmented and pushed way too far, so when they snap they are much bigger threat than the average joe who can be subdued with a taser. A guy scammed out of his livelihood snaps when loan sharks come to push him to the streets, a construction worker in heavy duty demolition gear going berserk when he´s told he is getting laid off despite essentially reworking his entire body to be just a construction bot to not get fired or an old war veteran who cannot afford his combat implant rents since after he is not useful anymore. They are normal people chewed up by the capitalist hellscape, but its cheaper for corporations to gaslight these cases as isolated psychotic attacks than to fix systemic issues their relentless drive for profit causes. And of course there are those who simply become detached from "normal" humans after being augmented too much, seeing them slow, stupid, weak and worthless - their lives dont matter any more than an ant matter to you. A literal detachment from being alive, which is interesting take.

I believe it's explained that something like the old exoskeletons were expensive to produce and cumbersome to use, whereas something like a super-strong arm is easier to use and therefore can be implemented at a massive scale. There does still exist things like military exosuits but those are for more extreme/military applications.
Really it all comes down to an allegory of how humanity is literally being chewed up and ripped apart in the face of increasing corpo greed and military expansion. Why train someone to use a forklift when we can force him to remove his arms and get our proprietary augments implanted instead, knowing full well he will have to work for the rest of his life or risk losing the new arms and needing expensive replacements.
