i think they took it as far as they could. i think resistance 3 was a fine conclusion and might've dragged the series on a little longer than i liked anyway.
besides, those types of shooters/games were falling out of fashion around that time anyway.

Retards didn't know what they wanted
First game was yet another "Halo killer", second game literally wanted the call of duty audience and the third one copied hl2 hard. Had they stuck with the Haloish gameplay of the first and actually built in that then maybe it would still be around

Isn't the story pretty much done conclusively? I mean what else is there for the series?

the last release was for a side game in 2012, you would have been 5

Not every story/setting needs to go on forever, for most it's fine that there's an ending. Tolkien wrote lord of the rings with evil banished and magic basically gone from the world

Even the existence of the letters he had pretty much filled in the blanks for what came before, any store *after* the ring is destroyed would be for a different world altogether

it just wasn't a good idea or game. Art direction was poor, concept was poor, gameplay was subpar trash. It just didn't do anything well at all.

Considering that every Sony IP except for GoW and TLOU is dead I highly doubt that. It would've at most gotten a shitty ps4 tech demo game like Second Son or Shadow Fall then died afterwards anyways from whatever the hell is going on with Sony these days.

I would say it ran it's course. I would like to see it brought to PC though.

3 ended the story fine enough, it really didn't need an artificial extension like Halo or Gears after 3.

>early 2010s was the revival of NES platformers as dolled up quirky retro games
>currently in the era of Playstation style revival, but games warp even more and are gorier

What will the 360/PS3 brown cover based shooter revival era look like?

As far as franchises go, Resistance ended rather nicely. It's a supposed Halo killer, released right when FPS were at their peak popularity. There's no way it'll survive beyond that era.

It got three perfectly good games; you just say 'dying out' because you're used to everything being flogged to death when it comes to vidya.

The WW2+futuristic aesthetic was cool

I've always thought it was strange how companies don't port old multiplayer games like this to pc. I would imagine the audience would be fairly decent considering there isn't anything really comparable on the PC market. It seems like a good way to make money and earn goodwill with gamers.

series had really cool weapons, still mad you couldn't use the ravager's weapon in 2 or the titan's flare cannon, though the latter may be overkill.

Gamers made it very clear "brown first person shooters" were "le bad", and rhe Vita game was super ass and sold badly.
