No point in new worms, unless it feels and plays like Armageddon.

I hope they try 3D again, 2D was already perfected by Armageddon.

To be fair, Worms Rumble was just a random mobile-tier game that put on a Worms skin at the end in an attempt to sell more. It wasn't too bad but it definitely wasn't created as a Worms game at first.

Would a big scale Worms work? Like a Battlefront clone?

I always hoped for that they would make more dynamic maps (dirt, metal, wood, glass) that would allow distinct interactions.
Just imagine Noita as a Worms game.

I don't know how well Worms gameplay would mesh with Noita-like physics, feels like it'd be really annoying to play something like that despite sounding like an excellent idea.

You could have:
>metal terrain that behaves like Worms terrain always has
>dirt which settles into a pile after it's hit, causing landslides
>glass that shatters the whole segment once it takes enough damage, as determined by its thickness.
>wood that acts as a hybrid of metal and dirt, chipping off splinters and fracturing instead of simply being gouged

That would be a strict upgrade. If you only want to use metal, for a classic experience, you can. If you only want to use dirt, and play Pocket Tanks-style, you can. If you want to set up some kind of strategy game based around damaging glass, you can. And if you want to create triggerable hazards that you can set in motion by breaking them off of their stems, you can use wood to do that, too. Everything has a utility beyond the obvious.

I was thinking more about stuff like..
bullet weapons can shoot through thin wood
laser weapons can shoot through glass
metal blocks most weapons, but you can electrolute enemies through it.
dirt basically just behaves like normal Worms maps.
Additionally you can burn wood, shatter glass, etch metal
