Did you not read up or watch some gameplay before? It's a spiritual successor to the SWAT series. It's meant to be slow and methodical, follow police procedure and whatnot, not some twitch terrorist shooter. Although the most fun to play is go in guns blazing.

Anyway, I haven't played since before the DLC. I heard they neutered this game?

I agree with OP. They didn't even deliver on a third of the promises and now they caved and censored the game on steam for the console release while also "streamlining" an already bland gameplay.
