Is it safe to say that FNAF as a franchise is dead for good? Secret of the Mimic came out a month ago and has been already forgotten.

No, SOTM is just open-ended so there's not a lot of discussion to be had. There's no real mystery added to the series other than wondering what's next.

It's because Secret of the Mimic is a fairly open and shut case when you don't get hung up on the intentionally cryptic details that are obviously going to be solved in a DLC or future game, the most it really does lore-wise that's concrete is give us context for the Mimic in terms of game lore and make it apparent that William Afton's actually a hack fraud without a single original bone in his body aside from wanting to harvest remnant from killing kids.

I 100%'d it. It was pretty good but still not quite what I'm looking for in a FNAF game. More weird contraptions, less sneaking segments.
The most FNAF-like parts of the game were doing the overflow puzzle with Big Top closing in, repairing the elevator with Dollie on top, and White Tiger's boss fight.

He made some stuff he was just never good as Henry and no where near Edwin, Remnant was his bread and butter.
