I enjoyed the Crossbell duology a good deal except for some small things here and there. For me the series went to absolute shit with Trails of Cold Steel II. Cold Steel I is generic, kinda boring and mostly harmless, but II is where the writing becomes insultingly bad and it doesn't really recover from it.

Looking back I do agree with that it dropped off after CS2 and CS4 & Reverie were weak, but thought Kuro 1 was just fine but Kuro 2 was the first one I thought was just horrendous
The Calvard arc is basically filler and a huge waste of time really and goes to show Falcom doesn't know what to do with trails in general anymore
