It was basically like playing one of the good episodes of Batman: The Animated series. You had Kevin Conroy Batman, you had Mark Hamill Joker, you had all kinds of gadgets, you stalked goons in the darkness, and you beat the shit out of them (it could have used a Batmobile section but besides that). It had just about everything you might have wanted out of a game like it if you liked Batman.

That's not to say it was perfect of course. The combat's pretty dumb and easy to brute force your way through it, and it has a pretty infamously shite last boss. But it was still good.

the gothic atmosphere was nice, very sad the gay magnetic combat raped the industry.

From my memory of playing it 30 years ago: You only really backtrack each area once, and the areas are changed by the time you backtrack through them

especially on hard where 80% of your attention was at the goons summoned by the boss instead of the boss himself.
