Am I crazy or are graphics going backwards? Unreal Engine slop tends to have a look and it looks inferior to the best custom engines even last generation.
the goal of the industry right now is to offload all graphical wizardry onto the player's hardware via raytracing. the problem is the player's hardware isn't good enough yet to actually do that, so everythings actually running at like 720p and upscaled with fake frames.
They are reusing mocap data of the cutscenes from the OG but the gameplay is pretty much different.

It's so distressing that they made the amazing Fox engine and now MGS is just fucking unrealslop that'll require a supercomputer to run while looking maybe 5% better than MGSV did ten years ago. Phantom Pain would run on any fucking toaster just fine back then.
