I liked The Witcher 3. Haven't played their other Witcher games, so I can't speak on those. I haven't played Cyberpunk 2077 neither, but I know a few people irl who have, and their reviews of it were glowing, so I'm inclined to believe that it's at least decent. Still, given all that, I'm not that hyped for The Witcher 4. To be honest, I feel kinda done with the franchise. Not due to the fault of someone doing something wrong. It's just that I'd been immersed in that world for too long. Read through the entire book series multiple times back in the day. I feel like I mentally moved on. Also, from what I've seen The Witcher 4 is trying to incorporate some feminist angle into its story, and I'd be lying, if I said I wasn't feeling hostile towards that ideology. So I'm not very excited.

I dunno i actually respect it a whole lot less that they've ditched their in house engine of Red Engine rather than seeking to improve it. UE5 is becoming an identity crisis for studios. I'm not happy that CDPR were downgrading their games for console hardware prior, but this is a different issue of why they're screwing up.

I was under the impression the next witcher game would have a character creator and different classes, like sorcerer, witcher, soldier whatever, but I guess CDPR just can't write a story without a fixed protag, hell they even turned a tabletop RPG into a story driven mess.

I got my PS4 just for bloodborne and played it to death. Then I got Witcher 3 because everyone I knew said it was great and I love RPGs (CRPGs, Action RPGs, JRPGs)
Witcher 3 scratched none of those itches and the action combat - coming from BB - felt incredibly lame.
It may have a cool world, characters and story but as an actual RPG it fell flat for me.
