I try to start with a reasonably optimized solution. You can go full retard and use a thousand steps and infinite space for everything but it's really unsatisfying and unfun. I tend to optimize for area if nothing else.

Zach games donโ€™t filter you, they elevate you. Youโ€™re in the forge now, anon. Infinifactoryโ€™s not about brute-forcing-itโ€™s teaching spatial reasoning and elegant jank. Embrace the cursed conveyor spaghetti. Even if it looks like hot garbage, if it works, it works. Youโ€™ll look back at your first flying cube monstrosity and laugh while optimizing it into a minimalist dream. Keep at it.

Playing zachtronics games on release is better because you don't feel like a midwit from optimized cases where people do things in 0 turns or whatever that show up on the histograms

Very interesting, you weld the frame first so that it (1) doesn't need rotating again, for correct positioning and (2) can slide evrything into place once and weld everything. I tend to break the process down into sub-routines, as such I end up with solutions similar to pic rel.

Nothing in your home is "otherwise not existing", anon. You might think you don't pay any attention to what your toaster looks like, but the small amount you inevitably do adds up. Same as why making your bedroom even slightly cleaner or nicer can have tangible sleep benefits.
You've been taught by the modern consumer appliance market that you should just take the thing that toasts your bread for a price that isn't more exorbitant than it has to be. In an ideal world, you could surround yourself with things that you like the look of, without sacrificing functionality. And for a function as simple as toasting, there's room to display personality without making it much more expensive.

Eh, this game is just Infinifactory except not fun.

There is no complexity, no emergence, no problems to solve, no real engineering, just moving tiles around to create images. It's like playing an rpg but it's only fetch quests with progressively longer distances. Looking how Zach's game design changed, I felt like with time his puzzles were becoming more complex but less restrictive, following the "easy to learn/complete but hard to master" principle. But this is an antithesis of that. You have very little at your disposal, no timing, no varied solutions, no space for elegance, it's just bunch of same few tricks you repeat until the game is beat. Half of the challenge is figuring how to rotate stuff and other half is wrestling with UI. Even SpaceChem had amazing UX with binds for everything so you could just paint whole solution quickly. This feels like a chore.
I want simple problems with complex solutions, not the other way around. I want to have so many tools at my disposal that I can have an entire fake console to write home-brew for. I want a story about a programmer who hacks his own body or a chemist who deals with some eldritch horrors, not cringy ass Japanese-American interactions.

Teachers are attacked on all sides(sometimes rightfully)
You've got the administration that are forcing you to exclusively teach what they tell you to teach, for better and worse.
>sorry our curriculum doesn't cover the Boston tea party, you need to spend 9 months talking about slaves, shape up
You've got shitty parents that are both antagonistic and don't support their children's education
>WAOOWWW YOURE MAKING MY THIRD GRADER READ!?!?!? HOW IS HE SUPPOSED TO HAVE A KINDERGARTEN READING LEVEL BY THIRD GRADE GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK, YOU JUST WANT TO MAKE MY KIDS TRANS AND MOLEST THEM! SO MUCH FOR WOKEMENTARY SCHOOL
and youve got shitty kids(you can blame the parents I don't care) who don't fucking listen, think they know everything, and are functionally retarded. Thankfully with all the stress and paying for supplies out of pocket you make a tidy sum of.... About the same as a shift lead at macdonalds.....that debt you took on to pay for your degree is as good as gone in 80 years!

It felt like I ran into the same problem in exapunks and TIS-100 and Shenzhen, I need to store/work with like 5 variables more than the space allows me to and the actual trick is some math interaction I'd only know if I did serious actual coding at some point in my life or played these games continuously since 2010. Moving images around to assemble them feels like going back to Infinifactory or Spacechem to me.
