Consoles have been literal DRM boxes for over a decade. They'll only play your disk if Sony or MS are benevolent enough to let you. You have absolutely zero control over if you get to play your games.
The only way to actually own your games is piracy, whether that's on PC or a hacked console doesn't matter, but PC tends to be easier.
With piracy, you actually own the files, can copy them, mod them, play them or do whatever else you want with no need for verification or an internet connection.
