Mostly referring to the huns. The arrival of the huns caused widespread migration of several tribes trying to escape the hunnic invasion, which all flowed into Rome seeking refuge. This resulted in a domino effect that resulted in rebellions, anarchy, and social upheaval all across the roman empire. While the hunnic raids contributed to western Rome's collapse, it was mostly from the empire no longer able to keep itself together

Well they kinda were. They did sack much of Tsushima during the 1st invasion. The whole concept of Ghost was based on accounts of samurai going under the cover of darkness to raid the mongol camps and kill them during their sleep, usually taking small boats up to their ships where the soldiers and sailors couldn't fight back properly.

Not vidya but plenty of anime portray the shimabara rebellion, most notably in rurouni kenshin where he fights against amakusa shougo. The thing with steppe cultures is that they are notoriously very weak culturally. Compared to other cultures, steppe peoples are the most susceptible to embracing the culture of other lands until their origins vanish through generations of interracial mixing. So many mongol conquerors who came to the middle east and south asia and have abandoned their former lives and identities to be one with the people they conquered.
Nevermind china where chinese culture eventually overtakes them.
This is also why steppe empires and dynasties rarely last long.

This is exactly the opposite of what happened to Hungarians and Turks. Modern Hungarians and Turks are a massive population with basically no genetic link to the original chinky steppe people (they are just local Central Europeans / Anatolians respectively) but they still speak the conquerors steppe language and fiercely identify with them.

Modern turks are weird because the Ottoman empire wanted to be the second coming the Rome. They sorta accomplished that in a sense given how long the empire lasted and how powerful it was in its day. In Medieval 2 Total war horse archers also the best unit in the game. You shoot all your arrows at the enemy, and when there are no ammo, you just charge them.
You can't catch them as their horses are fast. You can shoot them, but for your 5 archers, they have 20 horse archers

Until you position your forces near a cliff face and watch the AI eat shit because they can't into pathfinding. Ravine battles are your best friend when dealing with the Khuzait menace. 300 Fian champs sitting on a hillside can mulch Monchug's forces at 10 to 1.
