is this really what the "stop killing games" retard want. The return of Battleborn and Concord when nobody asked for it?
There is not a single dead game that deserves to live.
Failed 5 billion live service games bring down the companies that make them and so they should continue to exist to ruin ubisoft, EA, sony and whoever thinks its a good idea to slop them out.

The most worst case scenario is that companies can acquire defunct IP and push patches to disable those games or litigate against third party servers keeping them functional.
There is no inherent obligation or incentive to keep even functional games functional.
The press is always hungry, but the press must always be kept in a state of starvation or it will kill us all.

Wanna know what the beauty of game preservation is?
it's that your opinion on it doesn't matter in the least.
You loving or hating the game makes no difference, the point is preserving it for people to see and experience instead of simply eliminating it from history.
Battleborn may not have been a good game, but it wasn't total shit either, it had plenty of creativity to show, even if most of it was cringe and chasing trends / pop culture.

Just because you hate something doesn't mean it shouldn't exist,
it needs to be saved so future generations can use it as a reference on what to do and not to do, what is fun and what isn't, and what is corporate greed and what isn't.

No, since those games would be exempt from the law, since they already released and died, but if there's quite literally a single human being that wants to play those games, the games deserve to be kept alive, even if it's in a single server in some random dude's basement in kazahkstan.

Nigga, OSRS was replaced by RS3 and people hated it so much they brought OSRS back
It's not about not updating games, it's about keeping the game people liked

If you have a version A that people like (IE cube world alpha)
and then you have version B that people hate (like the "full release" of cube world)
Do you think it's justified to destroy the one that people liked and paid for?

I want all games, good or bad to be immortalized. Concord is one of the greatest flops of all time. If for no reason other than historical significance, it has even more of a right to be preserved than other games.

Stop killing games does not go far enough, either. I wish game patches were subject to the same level of version control that software is and the consumer had access to all of it. Steam depots just aren't even close to enough.

Why is it so hard for you to comprehend that the point isn't preserving good games, but preserving what people paid for?
Why is it so hard to understand that it's not about "saving games" so much as it's about not destroying history, evidence and customer rights?
