I thought the first one was really good, with a great setup for a sequel. And while the 2nd had a lot of upgrades, the story seemed to flounder hard as fuck after Argus
I thought we were going to get all 5 shards and (You) as the reader could undo all the anguish caused by the owl, ala Link to the Past. Instead, Quill gets them, and within 10 seconds, banishes us entirely from the realm, so we can go hang out with the traitor Arderyn as he fucking Loki's us and fucks off with the objects that can help us fight the evil reader. Seriously such a fucking shit end to what was a really interesting use of VR platforming and gaming, with a cute miniature story.
The storybook setting and reading in the astral library were really good, but I also feel that by the end, the VA/Narrator was really pulling herself thing trying to do too many voices. Bernard's especially is a bit grating at points.

Ghost of a tale is pretty awesome. The map is fairly small but dense, nails the feeling of adventure despite the reserved scope. The world building is pretty ambitious too, hopefully they get some more games in universe.
