Hitman 2 contains the game files for Hitman 1 & 2, and it's 150GB total.
Hitman WoA contains the game files for Hitman 1, 2 & 3, and it's 75GB.

they literally cut the install size in half despite including an extra game. They accomplished this solely through utilising a decade-old compression method, nothing fancy. And hell, if 75GB is still too large, Hitman lets you uninstall individual levels to keep the install size down. Bungie has no excuse whatsoever for deleting content, there's so many things they could have done differently.

The community sucks at onboarding too. Multiple people from different places encouraging me to reinstall but all of them said I could join them when I was raid ready. "Raid ready" didn't mean have the gear to do the raid and learn it, they meant learn everything yourself first with randoms then join. Basically play the entire fucking thing myself then join their groups to replay it some more. Consistent experience with every destinyfag.

You're both right and wrong. There's some fuckery where it's the same base, but there's been fuckloads of changes. Around BL, Bungie was going to originally make Destiny 3, but they looked at the dev of D2 and how everyone fucking hated it at launch and kept telling them to just go back to how D1 was. They realised that fracturing the community again and making everyone go to D3 was gonna cause the same dramas as D2, so they said, fuck it and just made BL an expansion instead.
They had to cut a lot of content because the engine upgrades left behind a bunch of old shit that didn't work for whatever reason, and they told us that old shit would come back and wasn't gone forever (that was a lie)
We know this because the recent-ish lawsuit about the guy who wrote a book and an event was called "The Red War" decided to sue Bungie and Bungie couldn't prove the differences because they themselves couldn't play the Red War campaign. They tried using lets plays and ishtar-collective as sources and the judge told them to fuck off.

The "lick of paint" is kinda true, but it's changed significantly enought that a lot of older content relies on shit that isn't in the engine any more.

NTA, but that's not actually the reason. The reason is that every expansion they're getting constantly harrassed to ensure it releases on time and unless the game gets delayed reasonably significantly, they never manage to get enough dev time to actually make fun shit.
When they do get enough dev time, we get shit like The Witch Queen and TFS, which had genuinely good content. When they have to be slaves to deadlines we get absolute garbage like the seasons.
They need at least 6 months to produce anything worth playing and even then, they'll make it not fun by making you run the same activity 50 times in a 3 month span.

The funny thing is that XIV was clearly setting itself up to let players do that too. The whole concept of Dawntrail was to be the starting point in a new story arc, but it just completely bottled it.

Instead of being a story they could allow new players to begin from, you need knowledge from previous expansions just to follow along.

And instead of being a strong new opening that kicks off a new arc, it's a weak, mediocre mess with the worst MSQ in the entire game.

It is but deleting that shitty token campaign is not the reason for it. It has mostly to do with barrier of entry being behind buying like 5 expansions. It's just a mess of a game, old and new systems being revamped time and time again.
Also, there is a more fun armored space warrior co-op shooter now. I genuinely believe this game hurt Destiny quite a bit by having a similiar appeal but being more "lean", without grind and dated bloat.
