Just finished FFXII on the ps2 emulator and it was alright, is the FF XIII trilogy worth it or should I jump to XV?

It’s not good but it’s still worth playing so you can see firsthand how FF started getting worse.

Give it a go. You'll understand if you like XIII or not pretty early on because its mostly like that all the time.
XIII-2 is the opposite of XIII but I heard the PC port is ass
LR is divisive but I liked it the most of the three.

13-2 is similar but lightning returns is very different, I would watch a playthrough of then instead.

12 and 13 were basically the start of the downfall of the franchise. It’s honestly kind of incredible how hard Square Enix fumbled Final Fantasy, and how easily Atlus’s franchises were able to capitalize on FF’s failures and become the new JRPG head honchos.

Terra was closer to being the main character (the object of the story) than the protagonist (the subject). Locke was the closest to being the protagonist in the 1st half. Celes took the spot only for the short WoR intro section before getting the airship, then the story no longer had a protagonist.

I hate that they went with the American covers for the PAL releases when we previously had had the same covers as Japan did.

I kinda like 13-2 for the time travel shenanigans

FFXIII-2 is decent enough.
I like XV a lot.

XIII is really good if you're smart enough to figure out how to actually play it (i.e. not just sitting in com/rav/med the whole game)
XIII-2 is really dumbed down
