Realistically, how big of a deal is this? Can you actually tell while using the screen day to day?

Holy fucking tendie cope.
Pic rel is a $250 modern VA panel, there's absolutely zero reason for Nintendo to be this fucking cheap.

>Pic rel is a $250 modern VA panel,
So like 80% of the price of the console just for the screen?
With a Switch 2 you get the screen, the CPU, the GPU, the memory, the controllers, the operating system... plus you can hook it up to an external display

A 27" screen, and it has a 1000+ zone miniLED backlight. The point is, fast LCDs are dirt fucking cheap and they STILL cheaped out just to save a few cents knowing their rabid autistic fanbase will slurp them no matter what.

Wrong
It's being sold in Japan for $330 and that's almost at cost. So the profit margin is barely over 33% for the global units

it's not just raw panel cost, it's also (if not even more-so) not using pixel overdrive to save power.
