It's really simple, it's the employee wages, this game was in development for well over 8 years or so, so if you start counting all the 70k wages for the over 1000 people that worked in the game, you find the cost instantly, add to that the cost of the several contracting companies they most probably hired to cut costs and you have most of the rest of the cost.

Whats surprising is the game actually unironically forces you to encounter repeat bases and repeat enemies MULTIPLE times during main story and typical side content. You're actually adviced to not do any side content so the main mission seems more bespoke as you havent seen the locations before.

There is unironic mmo daily grind quests that dont tell you they're mmo style daily grind quests. The quest log doesnt say they're void of value, they look pretty much like a quest that has unique dialogue and story content but they are repeats of old quests, you do the repetitive motions to get useless reward and then the game tells you to go do it again.
It's not even the lowest form of quest design where you're told to fetch 10 monkeybutts, its stuff you did before and its a waste of your life.

ID has games that really push the technology to make a fluid high fps title that look good while having gameplay
Kingdom come deliverance does a good job being grounded in reality
Ubisoft has some titles that have incredible architecture, their facial animations, clothing, movement tech have been good for a decade
Larian has their top down rpgs with quality writing and some reactivity except for the last chapter.

All those publishers wont be looking at bethesdas technology or game design and go "we should copy that for our next game". Its all just a cautionary tale of how not to do things. I expect some smaller studios try to capture same audience as bethesda by doing superficially similar things while avoiding their usual garbage.

The thing is, women like nasty shit pretty much always, but many of them just don't want men to enjoy themselves, because they feel massive amounts of jealousity towards digital shit.

Starfield is the most depressing game I've ever played.
Any game that takes place in the future usually shows it either as an amazing place where all everyday struggles have been done away with, or as a dystopia where people fight just to live along megacorporations and human life is worthless.

But in Starfield the future is just ugly and boring. Everyone is ugly and black/brown, everything is lame and uninspired. Literally every aspect of existence in Starfield is dull and mediocre. There's no extremes, neither good or bad. It's all just a pointless, sad mush of mediocre mendacity and despite having a whole galaxy as the scope it never feels like there's more than a hundred other people in the game at the very most. Everyone else is an ugly paperweight that never comes off as more than part of the background.
