Do people not get bored of every single game having a father daughter story and the sequel having the daughter take over as the protagonist?
There are nearly 0 games with fathers and sons but now every game needs to have the "TAKE CARE OF THE LITTLE GIRL, SHE'LL GROW UP TO BE A DYKE IN THE SEQUEL"

The ladder. We've seen enough of the former and we don't need Duke Nukem to be mushy gushy. They did that to Ninja Gaiden in NG3 when they tried to "humanize" Ryu, making it just flat out gay as retarded. They did that to Kratos in GOW4 and castrated him straight up. It's an old song and dance and I don't find it interesting. The dog would be much better.

Not even to say it's bad, but games have already done this kind of thing, like TLOU. It would be a tonal shift for Duke Nukem, which, even if not done in a terrible way, wouldn't be charictaristic of Duke Nukem I think. It would really depend on execution. I wouldn't even mind a tonal shift necesarilly, but the only good kind of tonal shift for Duke I can think of is if they went dark and edgy like it's some kind of 2000's release. Make it metal or fuck off.
