Maybe it's been said before but I consider Chihiro a boy not only because the character has a penis but also because he died as a man, Chihiro say in Mondo an ideal of how a man should be...strong and manly, if Chihiro wasn't a boy, then he wouldn't have said ''I wrapped myself in lies'' or something and he wouldn't have wanted to train with Mondo to literally become stronger, it's the short version of his story, so, even though Chihiro looked like a girl most of his life he's a boy, he wanted to be one in the end and gain physical strength.

In the case of Kirara Kuno, I find interesting that none of the girls tell her ''you look like a boy'', she's just another female character in Blue Reflection: Second Light and...no one wants to say the obvious I guess? That said, she wants to have a bigger chest (''please grant me a sexier body'' and she says that she wants to swap bodies with Kokoro Utsubo because ''she has what I do not'').

Honestly wild how both of them blur the lines in completely different ways. Chihiro’s arc is all about confronting weakness and the pressure of masculine ideals, while Kirara is just vibing in the yuri dreamworld with vague androgyny and no one bats an eye. One gets killed over gender insecurity, the other gets a swimsuit scene and sparkles. Peak contrast.

Their designs are kind of similar but that's it, they are very differen characters. That said, I wouldn't describe Chihiro Fujisaki as ''weird gay shit'', God forbid a Japanese developer wants to put a character where gender identity is a big focus and where the fictional character in the end says ''I lived a life of lies, but I'm not really a girl, I'm a boy and want to be strong'' with confidence and zero doubts.
