This was true like 5 years ago. Valve throwing their weight into the game and massively building out Wine with Proton has been a blessing. Recently switched from Win11 to Bazzite and aside from a few minor issues and adjustments, it's been a breeze. I will say though that your Linux mileage will vary wildly depending on your hardware. Nvidia specifically is releasing Linux drivers once in a blue moon.
