they don't, actually. romances are shoved in for mass audience appeal. especially women. if blad and gay 3 didn't have romances, 80% of the sales wouldn't be there. it gets people to keep talking about the game long after it has been picked apart because people will argue to death about who the best romance option is, which in turn gets people to keep thinking about it, and keeps buyers interested. a fantasy plot with elves and dwarves and shit is a whole lot less palatable to the normie audience if there aren't romance sidequests. so many better games with similar settings or tactical CRPG gameplay, yet the one with romances is the one that sells. it is for normies, plain and simple.

incels don't want romances in games. they want all the women to be porn icons. they could care less if there actually is romance in the game because they are going to find or commission porn of it regardless, which is far more sexually gratifying to them than wasting time trying to woo one teammate and get a fade to black sequence. why do that when you can get some twitter artist to draw them as a harem in an orgy?
