> It took Pirate Software 8 fucking years to deliver the first chapter of his quirky Earthbound-inspired game about depression
Where is yours?

About 8 years away. Give it time.

I also decided to never ever include a for loop in my code, I'll get it done any time now

I'll get around to it. I'm just drawing the game as a way to procrastinate from actually learning to code.

I don't think I've ever experienced real depression, so you might have to wait a few decades or more before I can make my game about it.

I don't want to make a game about depression, what I am doing is trying to figure out how to make an Armored Core-like game (want to make a game more like the PS2 era ones) set in a desert. I'm still brainstorming how exactly I want that game to be. Not sure if I want it to be more rouge-like or lite, open world, mission based like AC, or something else.
Also needing to learn how to use blender has been a rabbit hole sucking up too much time.

>It took this nepotism baby with a father heavily connected in the industry all the money and time in the world for him to make a single chapter of his shit game

you answered your own question, OP. If it took someone with THAT MANY ADVANTAGES that long to make part of his game, then there's no hope for people like me

That's a guy. I'm thinking of reworking the abdomen into a phallus-like shape to make him more creepy and disturbing.

Same but with music
>This is where my killer jungle track would go in the map
Maybe I should just mod an existing game, but I don't want to do visual assets.

I wasted the last 5 years of my life and barely remember doing anything during it. I started keeping a list of games I finish because otherwise I would probably forget them. I could start working on making games tomorrow but fuck I wish I started 5 years ago and learned the necessary skills.

It's feasible. Just arm yourself with patience. We old dogs are past the point where we can assimilate as fast as kids do, but that doesn't mean we can't learn new tricks. We just need the time and motivation.
