I blame standardized game engines because they make it easier for Indians to get jobs, and Indian devs are universally incompetent.
>>715606004
It's a resource hog. Doesn't help that every kid dev they're churning out of game dev universities have been weaned on unreal engine. The days of Carmack's appear to be over, at least from AAA.

No, it became a punching bag from consumers. I don't give a fuck why games on unreal engine run like ass, I care that they do.
>>715606413
exp33 has that fucked blurry TAA hiding all the even uglier broken shimmering shader effects just like your run of the mill UE game, its a wonder it doesnt run any worse

Stereotypes exist for a reason.
Whether the engine or the dev is to blame doesn't matter when most devs using the engine believe that the engine does all their optimization for them.
These threads always ignore Stalker 2 which started out fantastic and has only gotten better and better with patch support post launch. We live in a golden era and we squander it bickering like children. Back in the day, Sonic the Hedgehog launched with slowdown when going through loops and there was no patch to save it. That was the game. Slowdown when you go fast is a permanent feature. But now? Endlessly improving and evolving games are not only possible, but happen Every. Damn. Time. And we whine. Its pathetic.

needs more brown and bloom imo.
this shit game has the same lighting and shadow, terrain and sky textures and same combat effects as every modern unreal engine slop. like stellar blade for example.
>>715607905
calling the faggots making sloppa with unreal turn a developer is way too kind. these yellow code monkeys are just essentially playing little big planet using UE5.
>>715605861 (OP)
Every single UE5 game I've played has had dogshit performance relative to the visuals presented by the game.
Either the engine is shit or it enables people who can't code shit out half-baked dogshite.

And how would people react if the days of Carmack returned and even a relatively fresh high range card couldn't get 60fps with gimp settings on a new release. At least the graphics were boundary pushing.
Kind of interested in how it'll work out in the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day since it's the first triple A game by Epic Games that uses UE5. I would imagine that if someone knows how to implement it ''correctly'' it would be them since UE is their creation.

carmack gave up on optimizing shit ages ago. he said pc wasnt the priority as far back as Rage. Its people's fault for buying Jewvidia. now theyre a monopoly so fuck the end user.
