I don't like how Shart's personality shifts so much towards the end. She ends up rather insipid. This tends to happen to the characters as they near the conclusion of their storylines (and the overarching story) because it becomes most of what they talk about. As the tone is more solemn and sombre, so is their dialogue and conversation topic array.

Act 3 does feel really half-baked. A lot of the companions would have hugely benefited from having their own area for their storyline to feel complete. Karlach and Wyll feel especially undercooked and this could have been substantially remedied by having their own area. It's so weird how Shart gets TWO areas just for her, Lae'zel gets one (arguably more), Astarion gets one and then the other 3 just don't. I guess Wyll gets that underwater dungeon but that's it.

Wyll and Karlach are just generally undercooked anyways but that's for a different post. I'll just quickly say that Wyll's personality should have simply been a more flanderised version of himself (loud ham, theatrical, bit like Don Quixote) and contrast that with the fact he's secretly a warlock

Something about Jennifer English's Shart voice absolutely kills me. Same with Maelle. Her normal voice doesn't really sound like that. But man she has one of the most aesthetically pleasing voices out there.

The thing with Wyll is he's just boring. There's no reason to intellectualize it any further. He doesn't have much of an arc, his personality hardly evolves, he barely ever has dramatic or intense moments... Nothing much happens.

The way to fix him is to make him a bit of a loud ham Siegmeyer of Catarina type. Make him dramatic, bombastic and jovial and THEN, like towards the END of act 1, bring up the devil thing. Make him personality do a 180. Make him all brooding and sad, talk less dramatically, bring him down. After that, keep offering him tempting deals with the devil like the first one so there are dramatic moments scattered throughout and transform him more and more (or not, rewarding him instead) until he looks like a complete devil. His story could conclude with him either looking like an demon inside but being a hero inside or looking like a hero inside but being a demon inside.

Also they should have made one of the companions a little race and I think it should have been shadowheart. Her being a gnome would make her unassuming and stealthy but it would also make her hot if she's a shortstack.

No, Shart. I'm sorry but I think you're nice and cute but they gave you too much of an out and out body count and made you too degenerate. Like, yeah, in my playthrough I didn't try to do the 4 (5) way, but the fact that she is down for it kind of ruins her in my eyes. Same with everyone at the temple bragging about fucking her.
I guess I'd rather just fuck Lae'zel. She is probably just as much of a slut but she never mentions her past lovers and becomes incredibly upset if you suggest shit at the brothel so at least she has some self respect.

Wyll Smith was different in the EA. He was basically a fake. A charlatan. He guy who was much more morally ambiguous, befitting a warlock. They then changed him to be the most boring companion ever in a WRPG ever. He doesn't do anything. He has no character. It seems like they entirely relied on people who had no knowledge of D&D.

That is his only character trait. He is a generic good guy but his powers come from a blue demon lady. Okay? Wow. Amazing. Incredible. I knew he had a demon patron when I saw he was a Warlock. He then proceeds to do nothing but have a dad who doesn't like him.

Yes it is half baked because it is not finished. They cut the upper city and had to move everything they could to the lower city and even cut Karlach's personal quest so she always gets a bad end. Then they refused to fix it even though the game made them into an AAA studio so they could go make Sven's space RPG.

Every time around act 2 I get excited about my next run through with the game and what character I'll make and every time Act 3 disappoints me so much I never bother with it. Also who though it was a good idea to reach max level like soon after reaching Act 3, killing a big part of progression?
