its the peak of the genre for many different departments, but /v/ is contrarian central so they dont like it. But on their side of the argument, its also "baby's first metroidvania", so all things considered youre even more likely to enjoy it
(/v/ actually used to unanimously love it before it got popular, like seriously back when barely anyone knew of it there were recurring threads with people loving it)
If you like the world design/nonlinearity of the first half of DS1, this game is very similar once youre past the early game and reach the point where it dramatically opens up. But its much vaster and it lasts all the way until the end of the game
