How important is sex appeal to the success of a modern AAA game
Very little, if any. Western AAA games don't need sex appeal to sell millions of copies.
Less important than romantic love interests and cute girls that playfully interact with you
See: Persona success, very little direct sexualization
Stellar Blade is kind of the opposite, overt sexualization but no romance
>>715651051 (OP)Stellar Blade is a mid game with high sex appeal and sold gorillians. Make of that what you will.
>>715651051 (OP)Something all of you seem to not be able to understand is it's all about entertainment. Are ugly people fun to see? Only if it's funny. Otherwise, no. Are attractive people good to see? Yes, even if they are not funny. This all comes down to basic math and reality.

>knew a girl who acted like Gwen growing up
>she would do โmeanโ shit to me or find ways for us to get together to get my attention
>never told her my feelings cause I thought showing emotions was weak
>she moves away from the neighborhood when I enter high-school
Sex appeal is always a plus, a la Nier, but i'd rather have a good story, gameplay and artistic vision than have a mid game with great jiggle physics for the characters. But getting fugly characters every year with hyperdetailed pores that make my PC crash and die as if it were a decade old isn't good either. A good solid core for a game is more important than sex appeal imo.
China and Korea has proven that going all sex appeal in a game is a good thing
