There's two types of 8BitDo Pro controllers, the cheap and the good one. The cheap, which is what I'm assuming is your selection, has no rumble feature and it's stuck to wireless mode only. The good one has Bluetooth in the name and can swap between Wireless/Bluetooth from the back of the controller with a button. The good one also has rumble and gyroscope, which is necessary for some Switch games.

You ideally buy the good 8BitDo Pro Controller for easy Switch and PC gaming, just a flick and you can instantly change without having to go fiddle with PC settings and likewise with the Switch 1 and Switch 2.

8BitDo was my first 3rd party controller since the PS2 Madkatz days and I like it. I think 50 dollars is a solid fair asking price considering the PS5 controller is 70 dollars, Switch 2 Joycons are 95, and the Switch 2 Pro controller is 85. If you absolute must buy the frugal 8BitDo controller (no rumble, no motion controls, no Bluetooth mode), then I wouldn't pay more than 25 dollars. Their more unpopular colors are cheaper too like Pink but you must give up your dignity to have a pink controller.

Also I neglected to mention the good one has all the buttons pre-mapped for the Switch. So you really don't have do anything to set it up, well if you're planning on using it on the Switch 2 you must update the firmware, but it's ready to go out of the box with its default configuration. If you absolutely will never use a console with this then buy the frugal cheaper Pro controller but don't go over 25 dollars.

In contrast with what the other anon told you, Bluetooth models of all 8Bitdo controllers use worse chipsets that reduce polling rate and increase latency. Wireless models are generally better, but don't expect them to support Switch.

anyway fuck 8bitdo but you probably can't go wrong with that controller

A little off anon.
There's 3 versions. Ones technicaly a different line but they get mixed up due to he naming.

There's the Ultimate 2c wired (no rumble, or gyro)
The Ultimate 2d Wireless (Rumble, no gyro)
And then the Ultimate c (It has everything)
The Ultimate 2c is the oldest one, with the 2c line being a more budget friendly option.

Xbox, xbox streaming or cloud is the first example. Anything paired to android, and some emulators all buttons would work but not triggers etc. I tried multiple modes. It mostly works fine when paired to PC but the button flipping was random.

I actually just bought one of these.
Haven't put a lot of time in on it but it feels good. Buttons are solid, has a decent weight, material is slightly textured which is good for grip. The Dpad is also decent as it seems to use some clicky switches, though there's something off about it that's hard to describe. Better than any Dpad you'll find on most xbox controllers anyway.

At like $20 USD it's great. I think the lilac colored one might be a few bucks cheaper on amazon and you got those prime delivery options if you pay for that shit (you can get Prime dirt cheap if you get government assistance like medicaid or foodstamps too).

Side-note: I don't think there's a worse controller for gaming than those dogshit Logitech Titanic-sinkers you can get in the same price point.

Yeah, I ended up getting the gamesaar nova lite instead of the 8bitdo ultimate c just because it's wider and my hands are bigger which made 8bitdo's model basically unusable.
I'm only buying cheap shit until the steam controller 2 comes out so no pro 3 for me. I had the pro 2 but the buttons ended up sticking and I hate the symmetrical layout. If I wanted to use a D-Pad Id just use an m30.

Yeah I only got the regular nova lite because it sub 20 bucks on prime day. I actually wish I would've gotten the 2, mainly for the the trigger stops. I was mainly put off because of the addition of back buttons on it, which I can't stand on controllers. The lite 1 is still treating me fine though, I just hate the triggers on it.

i bought an early sn30pro and it sucked hard

triggers when held down would occasionally drop input

dpad rubs the case
too much resistence to push down while feeling mushly and unclear
the centre pivot point caused even more force required to press right after holding left or vice versa

diagonal issues

weirdly loud buttons

only thing going for it was it looked nice

it's pretty good. take around 3 days of gaming to finally get it to low energy (red light), buttons are really good to press, the dpad is really damn good, i really like the feedback from it and it is really easy to hit diagnols with it and the stick is marvelous. the extra buttons are nice to have, i didn't thought it would use them a lot, but i end up finding them more useful than i first thought

it has a lot of fluctuation on the hz, but you can overclock it to 1000; dongle and cable are separete in the oc. i also recommend you to update it's firmware, because it improved the fluctuation

Everyone (paid) made it sound like the best controller ever. I was expecting a premium first party quality controller. Itโ€™s more of a moderately nicer third party controller. The D-pad is a little wonky as well but itโ€™s just fine for what it is and I like it enough to keep it

Pro 3 is in some ways a step back from the Pro 2. Pro 3 doesnโ€™t have Hall effect sticks, my Pro 2 does. No replaceable battery on the Pro 3 either. They added some cool things, but I donโ€™t know. The swappable buttons I donโ€™t like either. Those buttons are gonna be flying, more moving parts = more problems
