remake fags utterly BTFO. you didn't experience crash trilogy the way it was meant to be played
>the game would detect when you jump, start the animation, then continuously measure how long you held the button
isn't this how most platformers have worked since their invention
>>715658694you have no idea how utterly fucking incompetent modern devs are.
>>715658457 (OP)It's always so funny to remember that a lot (if not most!) of those devs went to game development school
They PAID for a fucking education and aren't able to pick up on some of the most important aspects of what they're making
>>715658457 (OP)So the crash devs think they were the first ones to do non-castlevania style jumping in platformers? Damn that company really was full of delusional megalomaniacs right from the get go huh?
>>715659515No they just have to explain something extremely basic and obvious to an entire generation of developers who are taught wrong in gamedev school.
His series of blog posts on the making of Crash are fascinating if you have any interest in game development or programming more generally: https://all-things-andy-gavin.com/video-games/making-crash/
So this game was a remake, not a remaster, if I'm reading this right. And a remake "can and should play differently".
So, "a new shitty game was made". No issue. Just avoid the Crash Bandicooy remake.
I'd be super missed if this was a remaster though, attempting to portray the original game.
>>715660046You have autism. All the matters is whether the experience is improved or shittier, and in this case it is shittier. It doesn't matter what you call it.
>>715658457 (OP)People knew from day 1 that the jumping in the remakes was fucked, it's nice to have one of the old devs come out and say it though.
>>715658457 (OP)Yeah this explained why it felt 'off'
Also no reflective surfaces in the remake like in the Crash 2 snow levels.
Soundtrack sucked too. They butchered the sewer and medieval levels
