Why the fuck isn't hardcore more popular? Hardcore in BF4 felt like the game was properly balanced. Normal felt like you were firing marshmallow cannons.

I'm actually fine with unlocked weapons as long as the balance is good. I tried playing BFV recently and DICE decided to give smoke grenades to only 2 classes, making half the classes useless. You literally can't move around the map as a support or assault and they have some of the best guns in the game. BFV had other issues such as attrition which was never removed from the game but class locked weapons makes me not want to play with those weapons at all because I have to play with a worse class if I want to use those weapons. Signature abilities also ensures LMGs and snipers are basically class locked anyways. If you are using assault and LMG you are at a disadvantage. If you are using support and sniper you are at a disadvantage etc.
