I think this is overall a better game than the first one, but the narrative direction and worldbuilding really disappointed me. Personally this is one of kojima's weakest games for me. The finale and some of the surrounding scenes were awesome and kinda make up for it in the end though.

i think its mostly because if you played the first, you already know what to expect since the stuff you can build with are all generally the same and some stuff, like the zip line, adds more QoL features.

with that said though. im having more fun with this one than the first, and i loved the first game.

Skillup's review is really funny because of this. He didn't like the game because it's too fun with too much player freedom. He's sounds like a madman in that video lmao. Tbf the DS2 is a bit easier than the original in some aspects but not by that much.
