I'm 100% predicting that Walpurgisnacht will end with something in the line of Madoka one upping Homura like Homura did at the end of Rebellion and circling back to Madoka's original state.

I like it to be honest, the game has potential to be much better they just need to add some more diverisity to the content get co-op working and guild events also make better use of labryinths. I think it could be great and I hope Kaiten will also drum up support for it.

Yeah but they would be (presumably) together/around each other, would likely remember everything that happened in both the series proper and rebellion and Yurifags will just ignore any element of it that goes against the Yuri anyway. Narrativewise: It completely misunderstands what made the original good, which is turning the magical girl trope on it's head. The cute mascot actually has their own goals and motivations for giving these girls powers. The enemy is dangerous and actually kills characters instead of getting kicked and running away shaking their fist. Instead it's incredibly positive and optimistic. Hell, they can even witch out temporarily for a powerful attack and then go back to normal.

For this game in particular, the gameplay is just boring. Magica Record's gameplay wasn't fantastic either, but at least the combat was quick. This one takes fucking FOREVER. They traded nice looking graphics for a boring slog. And they have to gall to continue acting like their pricing should be FGO tier, which is fucking insantiy. FGO's gacha is reviled for how unfair it is, but at least have the long ass story and character roster to back it up. Some of the free units are actually completely usable to this day. The low stars in this game don't even come with a special attack. LET ME REPEAT THAT: THE LOW RARITY CHARACTERS ARE COMPLETELY UNUSABLE BECAUSE THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A FULL KIT. Meaning only SRs and SSRs are really viable.

I dropped it a few weeks in on mobile and didn't look back.

The concept movie from 10 years ago God that hurts to type had her in it talking about magic so it seemed like they were teasing something with her. I've thought since then that she's in an interesting position of being an outsider to all the magical girl drama but is still pretty familiar with people in the quintet. I think she could offer an interesting perspective on the state of affairs. Making her a magical girl too would feel cheap and having her just be a normal human getting wrapped up in magical girl affairs would probably feel like a retread of the original so I could see them dropping whatever they had in mind then in favor of a tighter story.

I don't mind having stories come full circle but doing it that overtly would feel disappointing after all this time. Wally doesn't need to be anything more than the ultimate obstacle that Homura had to overcome in the time loop. The vague explanation from Gen on how it forms is all I really need. It's a personal thing but in this cultural climate I'm so over revisiting things. I'd rather have something radically different. Introducing the Mahou Shoujos that spawned the Witches from the original series is a much better way to tie things back together imo.

I've never played a gacha game before so I didn't realize it was one step above an auto cookie clicker with jpegs from the anime as the "story".
uninstalled after the tutorial, I can't believe this genre of "game" is so popular. Is it just something people play on their phones when they're bored and multitaksing?
