It’s hard for me to imagine a Zelda game compressed into a < 2 hour movie.
My guess would be it starts with Link starting some initial smaller quest, then he meets Zelda and gets roped into the stop Ganondorf/protect Triforce quest, goes through a dungeon or two, then climax is when he actually defeats Ganondorf.

Not sure why they went with child actors, but best of luck? Zelda's charm was always in its supporting cast and the variety of characters. You're on an adventure, after all. Hopefully they can still capture that feeling in just 2 hours of film.

Oppressed, multi-racial (no whites though) Garudos are LE OPPRESSED by white supremacist Hylians. Only the progressive Princess of Hyrule, Zelda, wants to give Garudos equal rights take Hylian jobs and marry Hylians to mix the races. One day she is kidnapped by a Garudo leader, Ganondorf, and hidden away. The King, flustered by his guards' inability to find her, recruits a young knight named Link to locate his daughter and bring her home. After following many leads and searching through different lands and temples, Link finally finds his quarry. But Zelda explains that she was not kidnapped. She and Ganondorf are lovers and she is carrying his child. She was fearful what her white Hylian father would do once he found out about the race of her daughter (it will of course be a girl), so Ganondorf spirited her away so she could give birth to the next ruler who would end the apartheid that Hyrule enforces. In the end, Link leads an army of Gerudos, Zoras, and other oppressed peoples to storm the castle, kills the king, and becomes the Hero. He falls in love with a fat ugly Gerudo 'female' and they live a simple life on a farm.

My guess Link will be an orphan kid who doesn't know his family or background. Meets Zelda who's hiding her identity and is on the run from Ganon/Ganondorf after killing her Royal family. Finds out Link has the Triforce but needs guidance and to find the Master sword. From there they go on an adventure. Not that hard.

My best guess would be Link is a young knight in training, saves Zelda from a classic Ganonodor'fs minion about half hour in and they go to collect the Tri-Force or Tri-Force pieces or whatever macguffin from the game they choose, making friends with the Gorons, Zora, Rito and others along the way and manage to turn the Gerudo against Ganondorf. Ganondorf uses Tri-Force to transform into Ganon but they defeat him. It'll be like the Mario movie and Detective Pikachu, safe but fun.

Whatever story they pick, it has to feature Zelda in a more prominent role where she actually pops up more than just once at the end of the game. If it wasn't for the need to cast two pairs of actors for a young and old version of the two, I'd say Ocarina of Time is the most likely suspect.
