>You're using cave walls for you art!? real art has to be drawn in sand using a stick!
>You're using a canvas and a paint brush for your art?! real art has to be drawn on cave walls with your hand!
>you're using photoshop for your art?! real art has to be painted on a canvas with a paint brush!
>you're using ai for your art?! real art has to be done using photoshop and custom brushes!
Why are people being such faggots when it comes to ai in video games?

Probably because it still looks pretty bad and always gets called out because of its uncanny valley effect compared to normal art

Because we already saw what happens when you push away effort and quality in favour of cheap, quick results with shitty flash animation, cheap CGI, bad pixel art, game templates and copy-pasted assets. Lowering the bar of entry is also a bad thing.

in all of your examples the art is made by a human, it's not automated. With ai you just type words and you get an image.

Because in order to use photoshop effectively and when you want to make something that actually looks good, you still need to actually learn how the software works, get some experience, have a minimum level of creativity and preferably already have some familiarity with artistic/creative activities like art or photography. AI is for retards who don't know anything but still want fast, cheap results.

Yes, everything that gives results fast and on the cheap generally becomes the norm, no matter what the consequences may be. You know what happened with plastic, yes?

And in order to use ai effectively, you have to choose the right checkpoints, you have to construct a workflow, train loras to achieve what you're trying to create, using the correct settings, steps and epochs, with the right training data and training prompts, and then you have to be good at prompting and generating, and running post processing in order to get the good looking artistic images you want to use.

AI isn't a tool. It just does the work for you. It's more similar to a commission or a google search. Next you'll tell me there is a talent to google searches.

That's a lot of words just to say "copy a popular proompt then refresh until something looks good, maybe move sliders around a little bit".

Are you retards seriously getting baited again from someone pretending AI takes skill?

I don't have any moral issues with AI art, it can absolutely be used even today in some contexts quite effectively - mostly in low-stakes applications like environment texturing. But it isn't consistent enough yet for high-impact work like character portraits (though it can be of some use in the design phase for quickly iterating on design ideas).
