I agree, but it got so much flak because dumb journos didn't understand how the camera worked.

SotN
>endless backtracking
>kill the same enemies over and over again

Castlevania 64
>stage based
>best Castlevania atmopshere in the entire series
>lots of instant death jumps can be annoying

Its ok to simply say its under-rated without a "lust provoking image and irrelevant time wasting question" post style, OP.

Erin Plays convinced me that this game is judged too harshly.

SotN is better music, and the SotN monster variety is better.
SotN is better.

Anons I'm gonna be real with you, it's just not fun to play. Atmosphere and story are top notch but the game was rushed out to market.

I believe CV64 deserves a remake though.

It's bad, but anyone played the two PS2 'vanias? I remember one of them looked good, but never tried. Worth it?

They have their fans.

I'm hoping Konami makes a 3D Collection since they already did all the handheld games.

When is this and/or SOTN getting the Classic Collection treatment by Konami?

Honesty need a remaster of pic related.

It's essentially the Dracula X collection because it features the original Rondo and it's sequel: SotN.

Ah, that sounds plausible. I think I'll wait a bit then. I try to buy games if possible, instead of emulating.

They're both good but I'd say Curse of Darkness is better. Lament of Innocence is kind of a DMC1 knockoff, while Curse is like a 3D version of SotN or one of the portable Igavanias. Lament has a much better story and characters though if you care about that shit in your 'vania games.
