people who argue that video games as a whole are as good today as they were twenty years ago only ever talk about the video games themselves but never the culture around it
where are all the huge billboards, interesting commercials and ads? where are all the unique wallpapers and renders made by developers to promote their games? where is the hype for anything anymore?
gaming has none of that anymore as everything has moved to social media, arguably to the detriment of the entire scene

this is an issue with entertainment media in general brother
the whole culture is atomized and all takes places on social media now, which is algorithmed and controlled
nothing is natural anymore, everything is forced
and cost cutting and squeezing the audience rules the day
movies are dying out, literal cinema death
streaming has taken over and is in enshitification phase
no one reads anymore, amazon basically OWNS books because of audio books
and don't get me started on TV
when was the last big TV show? Game of thrones? That shit ended, and ended badly.
we're in a media doom spiral when it comes to entertainment culture

Ive got an idea. I could just find things i do like today, focus on them, and not dwell on the past, and be optimistic that the future will have new cool things i cant even imagine. That might work.

>where is the hype for anything anymore?
Like you said, mostly confined to social media instead of real space.

Yes, when people about how good video games are, they only ever talk about video games, well spotted.

I unironically started to go outside more and get off the screen.

I go to sportsball games and concerts rather than buying consoles and vidya. Its fun and revitalizes me being in a crowd of people who have genuine reactions.

I unironically find more meaning and social fulfillment in work than I do online, it all seems natural vs the unatural artifical shit that is the internet.

Idk if that was (((their))) plan all along but its working. Im embracing the boomer lifestyle. I would say normalfag but its normal to be a doomscrolling outrage addict that browses X and Jewtube and wastes hours in internet arguments saying " i disagree therefore ur a retard"

Pandora released every evil on humanity. Modern audiences think the final thing released, hope, was a blessing and consolation. The Ancient Greeks understood it was the worst evil of all. Only when you have hope can the other evils crush you.
