>A random game with somewhat innovative gameplay achieves some success
>somehow this sets the new trend for the big game companies to follow in the next 5 years
What's next? are they going to keep failing over and over again until they get their own fornite?

I don't care. It's obvious innovation is dead anyway.

I prefer how people realized that they like the risk-reward extraction mechanics of tarkov and not how you get 360 noscoped by some PK cheater and that lead to the single player tarkov and a bunch of single player games with extraction mechanics coming out

This is why I like Call of Duty. There's basically no cost to dying. You can get back into the action almost immediately. No waiting for the round to end or having to go through some elaborate drop in / weapon collection phase.
The maps are small so it's easy to find enemies to shoot, but not so open that you're exposed to campers all the time.
Encounters are face to face shootouts and not just, "the first guy to spot an enemy wins".

Early access seems to be 2 years away still. And even then it's just an early access.

>Road to Vostok
Lel had completely forgotten about it. And yes, it's definitely not coming out before 2027.
