Stellar Blade is aggressively unfun to play. The dodge/parry are so unresponsive and sluggish. The combat just feels so bad. Everything else about the game is great, though.
And before you say it, I can beat Absolute Radiance Patheon in Hollow Knight, I know how to dodge.

Bros, I finally beat Scarlett and the game crashed when she tips her hat in the cutscene. No biggie, I thought. I've beaten her already, I can do it again. So, I did.... and it crashed again in the exact same spot. Tried a third time and the same thing. The game does not want me to beat Scarlett.

And because they playtested their game with input lag where they set the timing windows for the parry/dodge are rather "offset" from the animations. For nice linear animations this is fine, you can adapt really easily, but for bosses like in the OP where there's non-linear acceleration it causes there to be a disproportionately large discrepancy between the bit of the attack that you can parry in when the attack hasn't even landed and a disconcertingly small window when it lands. You have to learn to parry some attacks earlier and some closer to the hit. It's fucking annoying and you should blame Tim Sweeney's TAA simulator.
